

Joseph Robert "Bobby" Pyles, 86, of Louisville, passed away with family by his side on the morning of July 25, 2016 at Robley Rex VA Center. He was self employed owning Bob & Rick's Tavern for many years and absolutely loved playing the ponies at Churchill Downs and Miles Park. Bobby was a huge U of L Cardinals fan and loved going fishing. Anyone that knew him, knew him to be a wonderful story teller especially of his days in the U. S. Navy on board the USS Manchester as a gunner. He fought in the Korean War and was proud to serve his country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Roxie Pyles, several siblings and two grandchildren.
Left cherishing his memory is his loving, devoted wife of 61 years, Shirley Figg Pyles; children, Connie Pyles, Joe (Debbie), Rick (Pam) Tim (Kathy) Pyles and Joe (MaryAnn) Salsman; eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Hamilton, brother, Mike Pyles, along with extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 8409 Hudson Lane, Louisville, KY.
Private burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
