A faithful member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Louisville. Joy was a wonderful baker and was known as the "cake lady" at Baptist hospital where she volunteered for many years after her retirement from the Jefferson County Clerk's Office. She will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and wildlife.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Obie and Mildred Ware, her brother, Obie Ware, her sisters: Rosemary Colvin and Shirley Terrell.
She is survived by her sons: Gary Lee Smith and Mark T. Smith (Anita). Her grandchildren: Adam T. Smith, Brandi Lee Fitzsimmons, Kyle A. Smith (April), Rachael P. Spears (Alex). Her great grandchildren: Aiden, Cody, Conner, Karmann, Kylee, Lane, and Madison.
A mass of christian burial for Joy will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 12:00 PM at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Louisville, Kentucky.
Joy's wish in lieu of flowers was to be donations to the Humane Society
