She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their love and support.
Julie was born February 1, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK and raised in Evansville, IN by her parents Alvin and Mary Alice Kissel. Julie proudly graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville in 1963. She married the love of her life, Jim Ising, on September 5, 1970. Over the past 54 years, they have shared countless adventures and built a beautiful family together.
Julie had a deep passion for her family, friends, and church. She dedicated her life to Catholic faith formation, becoming a pillar of support and guidance for many. Julie was an active member of St. Albert the Great Parish since 1973. Her career included positions both in her Parish and within the Office of the Archdiocese of Louisville, including Sunday school teacher, Coordinator of Certification, Director of Religious Education, RCIA Director, and annulment coordinator.
She loved to travel, especially during her retirement, exploring the world with Jim, family, and close friends. A devoted mother to Jeff and Janelle, Julie raised them with endless love and support. She was equally a doting grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren—whether at the zoo, sharing a meal, or enjoying special one-on-one time.
Julie found joy in life’s simple pleasures—laughing, gardening, shopping, and listening to music. She was truly an angel on Earth, known for her gentle spirit and kind heart. A quiet, peaceful presence, she left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim; children Jeff (Karen) Ising, and Janelle (Chris) Richardson; Grandchildren Abby, Amelia, & Anna Richardson, Megan & Liam Ising; and her sister, Paulette Bonshire; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
