Kenneth R. Schiess Sr., 78 of Louisville passed from us on Monday, December 15, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Virginia Schiess; a brother, Tom Schiess and a sister, Charlene Holtgrave.
He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School, served in the Korean War, and retired from Ford Motor Co.
He is survived by his wife of over 52 years LouAnn; four children, Joe Schiess (Tonya), Bonnie Meredith (Ken), Ken Schiess Jr. (Benita) and Lisa McCoy;
seven grandchildren, Richard, Tyler, Jessica, Kayla, Charlie, Jacob and Zack and five great-grandchildren, Mason, Mariana, Sophie, Kaiya and Leah.
He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Jones (Doug) and several nieces and nephews, and a mother- in- law, Lula Frederick.
A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be conducted Friday, December 19, 2014 at 12:00pm in the chapel at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. Visitation will be Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until 12:00pm at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are his seven grandchildren.
