Kristopher was preceded in death by his parents, Joan Carol Hartsfield and Robert Thomas Rogneby, Brother In Law Relis C Eastman III and Mother In Law Evelyn L. ten-Pas.
Kris and Andrea met in 1996 at a Bible study in Antioch, California, and were married on November 28, 1998, beginning a 27-year journey built on faith, friendship, and love. They shared a deep connection — Andrea as a homemaker and Kris as a devoted, hard-working provider. He was a kind and gentle soul with a great sense of humor, and he loved creating delicious meals from scratch. Together, they took memorable trips, including their honeymoon to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and sometimes took trips to family reunions in North Dakota. Their home was always full of love, laughter, and the company of their cherished cats — George, Sarah, Tucker, Bella, and their most recent companion, Charlie.
Kris and Andrea were true partners, best friends who supported each other through life’s challenges and joys. Whether it was a quiet evening, a shared joke, or just being together with their furry companions, they found deep happiness in the life they built side by side. Kris’s steady presence, warmth, and unwavering devotion made their love story one that will continue to inspire all who knew them.
In 1985, after Joan remarried Fredrick Hartsfield, the family moved from Minot, North Dakota, to Layton, Utah. They later lived in Great Falls, Montana, and Grand Forks, North Dakota, before settling in Antioch, California, in 1987. Kristopher attended Antioch Junior High and graduated from Antioch High School in 1992.
While in high school, Kristopher met his lifelong friends Paul and Denise Anderson, John Heyer, and Hope Stuart — friendships that remained strong and meaningful throughout his life.
After high school, Kristopher enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving as a Military Police officer. From 1999 to 2005, he continued his service in the California National Guard as a medic with the 870th Military Police Company. He deployed after 9/11 and served at Ft. Lewis, Washington from 2001–2002. Despite undergoing 37 surgeries due to service-connected injuries, he remained courageous, selfless, and resilient.
His comrades remember him not only for his service but for his steady presence and compassion under pressure. Once, while on Annual Training in the mid-90s at Camp Roberts, he calmly responded to a young officer who had accidentally driven a knife into her own leg during a mishap. With quiet humor and skill, Kristopher treated the wound, saying, “Don’t worry, LT. I’ve got you.” He butterfly-stitched the injury and kept it discreet — a moment never forgotten by those he served with.
Growing up, Kristopher made many treasured memories with his family — from camping trips in Utah, to butter fights during summer breaks, to the unforgettable time he accidentally set the back patio on fire with a homemade Molotov cocktail. (He lit it on the kitchen stove, but dropped it in his haste as he ran out the back door!) His adventurous spirit and sense of fun left lasting stories that his family will always remember with smiles and laughter.
Kristopher was the kind of uncle every child dreams of — present, playful, and endlessly supportive. He treasured every moment with his nieces and nephews, whether it was a movie night, a gaming session, or simply catching up over dinner. He especially loved his outings with Aurora and playing Wii U with Andrue, filling those times with laughter and memories that will be cherished forever. Kristopher also had a passion for cooking and delighted in sharing recipes that became family favorites. No matter what was happening in life, he always made time for his loved ones and cheered them on without hesitation. His encouragement, patience, and open heart made him not just a wonderful uncle, but a true and trusted friend.
Kristopher was a beloved brother to Thomas (Robin) Rogneby of Louisville, KY, Torva Rogneby of Louisville, KY, Jacob Rogneby of St. George, UT, and Kathleen Rogneby of Liberal, KS. He was a cherished uncle to his nieces; Aurora Eastman, Rebecca Eastman, Amia Eastman, Samantha Rogneby Stout, Alice Charlotte Easter, Penelope Hartsfield, and Anita Hartsfield, and to his nephews; Michael Hartsfield, Jonathan Rogneby, and Andrue Eastman. Great-nephew, Reid Mihelic.
Kristopher will be remembered for his kind heart, his humor, his adventurous spirit, and the deep love he held for his family, friends, and furry companions. His presence brought joy to those around him, and his memory will live on in all who knew him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home on Westport Road from 11am - 3pm with a memorial funeral service to follow at 3pm.
