Lanny R. Howard Sr., age 75, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, a deacon of Cloverleaf Baptist Church, a retired bus mechanic for Jefferson County Board of Education, and was very active at Sun Valley Golf Course.
Lanny was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy McIntosh Howard; parents, James Howard and Mary Chaney; sister, Wilma Jean Howard; and sister-in-law, Nancy McIntosh. He is survived by his children, Michelle Howard, Laura Renee Mullaney, Lanny Howard Jr., and Luther Daniel Howard(Melissa Pate); grandchildren, Chasity Brown(Steven), Mary Ann Franklin, Zachary Howard, Katie Howard; great-grandchildren, Rylee Brown, Vanessa Mudd, Kaiden Willibaum, Steven Read Brown, and Isabelle Brown; sisters, Louise Estes and Nickie Carpenter(Richard); brother-in-law, David McIntosh(Barbara); and his nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Visitation will be 4pm-8pm Friday, June 20, 2025 and 9am-10am Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10am Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
