

He was born on January 6th, 1951, in Dallas, Texas to Clarence Ray Lewis and Betty Imogene Prewitt Lewis. Larry was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was a very involved father. Larry was a devout Christian man. He devoted his life to providing for his family. In his life, Larry accomplished so many different things. He was a member for Fern Creek Christian Church, where he put on their very first car show. All the proceeds of the car show went to the children’s ministry. He firmly believed that children are the future. Larry was also a car enthusiast. He won several awards for his pride and joy, the Marlin Rambler. Larry was one of less than ten owners of the Marlin Rambler. He belonged to the “Chicken Eaters Car club”, where he met lots of his close friends. Larry was a hard-working man. He worked for Ericsson as a project manager and later became a contractor. After his retirement he began working at Enterprise Leasing Company as a driver. Larry delivered and picked up cars for them for many years. He loved being on the road, driving and making many friends while employed there. Larry was a Kentucky Coronel. He Loved to travel. He traveled all over the country from Florida to Alaska.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Ray and Betty Imogene Lewis. As well as many beloved friends and family.
Left to cherish his memory are loving wife Sue Ann Blakely Lewis of 24 years; his sister Carolyn Lewis Taylor; his sons, Larry Dewayne Lewis II “Skipper”, Chris Blakely (Beth); granddaughter, Emma Grace (Marley Yopp), and many other beloved family members.
A visitation will be held on January 22nd, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am with Funeral service starting at 11:00am, at Fern Creek Christian Church 9419 Seatonville Road, Louisville, KY 40291. Memorial Contributions can be made to The American Diabetes Association, as well as Fern Creek Christian church Children’s ministry.
