Lillie Mae Harris, 67, of Louisville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on the morning of August 5, 2012 at the Golden Living Center. She was a native of Berea, KY and the former Lillie Ray. In her children's younger days she loved to go fishing with them, was an avid bowler and loved to be around and take care of babies and children. However, most people will relate to Lillie as being the loving wife of 45 years to Thomas Harris Jr. who preceded her in death only four short years ago. They did everything together and loved spending time with family.
In addition to Thomas preceding her in death, she also was preceded by her parents, Frank and Nancy Davidson Ray, Sr.
Left cherishing her memory are her children, daughters, Lavonda (Mike) Perry, Venissa (Donnie) Bodkin, sons, Michael and Paul Harris; brothers, Paul (Kaye) Ray, Dennis Ray and Frank Ray Jr.; sisters, Kathleen Dooley and Dorothy Lafollette, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lillie's Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. A gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to Hosparus of Louisville.
