Linda S. Nelson, 64, of Fairdale, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the morning of July 8, 2013. She was the former Linda Pippin and a homemaker. She was a fabulous housekeeper, a Baptist by faith, and a woman who never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She absolutely loved spending time and cooking for and with her family, but the love of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Left cherishing her memory is her loving husband of 46 years, Billy Nelson; son, Scott (Tracey)Nelson and daughter, Tiffany (Richards) Hawkins; grandchildren, Chelsea and Matthew Nelson, Hunter and Travis Hawkins, and great-grandson, Parker Nelson; siblings, Bob (Helen) Pippin, Madonna (Ray) Webber, Henry (Sheila) Pippin, Debbie (Marty) Meador, Timmie (Julie) Pippin, Tammy (Mark) Carroll; and her sister-in-law, Mary Geary, who was as close as a daughter or a friend could be. The family appreciates all the help and caring that Mary provided to Linda and to them.
A Life Celebration will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
