Reed, Lionel Douglas “Sweetie”,86, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on July 27, 2016. Lionel was born on February 4, 1930 to the late Monte and Beulah Reed. Lionel was a Marine and was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of Knights, A.C., VFW Post 6182 and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Zack Reid; great granddaughter, Baby Atwell; four brothers; and one sister.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary A. Reed; son, Ricky Reed; daughters, Debbie Looney, Phyllis (Curt) Richardson and Ronda Ruark; grandchildren, Varicia, Vicki, Barry, Jordon, Kristin, Julian, E.J., Evan, Rachael, and Taylor; 16 great grandchildren; siblings: Wenona, Myrl, Luther, Raymond, Melvin and Vernon.
A service to celebrate his life will be Monday at 10:00am at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery following the service.
