Born to the late Stanley Childress and Mary Margaret Durham, Dale is also preceded in passing by his siblings Betty Turner, Stanley Childress, Patricia Works, and Ronald Childress. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, June Childress; their children Kelly Dwyer (John), Kimberly Hawkins (Marty), and Barron Combs, Jr. (Brandy); grandchildren Grace Ray, Graham Dwyer, Drew Dwyer, Cohen Dwyer, Adeline Hawkins, Amelia Hawkins, Nash Hawkins, Tripp Combs, Scarlett Combs, and Waylon Combs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dale had a passion for living life and spending time with his family. His favorite thing to do was to travel, making it a point to visit almost every continent. Especially after meeting his adored bride, he also made it a goal to take her to as many different places as possible. Dale was deeply loved by his family, friends, and community.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 17, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service in Dale’s honor will take place Tuesday at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Dale will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.
