Lois (Birdie) Hampton, 94, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully at her home on June 12, 2016. She was born in Toledo Ohio and was raised in the Camp Taylor area of Louisville, KY. She worked at the Powder Plant in Indiana during WWII. After the war she was married to Rev. Joseph Hampton whom she was married to until his passing in 2014 for 67 years. During their marriage they served the Lord at Round Top Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, KY; Manly Memorial Baptist Church in the Portland area of Louisville, KY; Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Campbellsville, KY; and Meadowhill Baptist Church in the Okolona area of Louisville, KY. Birdie was also a member of Parkland Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are; sons, Joseph Hampton(Donna), Kenneth Hampton(Cheryl), James Hampton, and David Hampton(Patty); nephew, Kenneth Stocking(Cheryl); 8 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Birdie will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son FH, 8519 Preston Hwy. Louisville, KY 40219 with Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
