Born July 15, 1971, a Louisville native, Troy was a proud alumnus of St. Xavier High School (Class of 1989), where he began laying the foundation for a life committed to helping others.
Troy served his country with honor as a member of the National Guard before embarking on a remarkable 30-year career in law enforcement. He made a lasting impact in the communities of Prospect, West Buechel, Heritage Creek and Dosker Manor, and also worked as a police officer serving in the sheriff’s department and county attorney’s office. His dedication extended beyond his official duties, as he provided security for numerous schools, athletic events, and local businesses.
Among his many achievements, Troy’s proudest moment was the birth of his son, Tyler. Watching Tyler grow from a young boy into a strong kind young man to eventually becoming his best friend, was the greatest joy of Troy’s life. His bond with Tyler was a source of immense pride and happiness, and their relationship was a testament to Troy’s deep love and devotion as a father.
In 2023, after briefly retiring (if only for one day), Troy achieved a lifelong dream by opening his private training studio. This milestone marked a new chapter in his life, one he had envisioned for decades. His passion for fitness, self-improvement, and martial arts shone brightly, both through his accolades and his love for teaching others.
Troy’s zest for life was evident in his many passions. A frequent traveler, he was a regular at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, where he formed lifelong friendships with people from all corners of the country. He also shared a deep love of cars with his father, always ensuring he had the latest and greatest on the road.
At the core of Troy’s being was his love for friends and family, music and dancing. From his early days dancing at the Maze to his many nights on the town with friends and family, Troy was always living life to the fullest. Known for his warm and welcoming nature, Troy never met a stranger and was beloved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His caring, thoughtful, and humorous personality made him the kindest person anyone could ever meet.
His relationship with his siblings was one of a kind. He was a fierce protector and his pride for them and his nieces and nephews was obvious to all.
Troy was not only a devoted father, brother, son, and uncle, but also an incredible partner to his girlfriend, Lindsay, with whom he reunited after 15 years of friendship. Together, they began building a life filled with love, laughter, and dreams for the future, along with their beloved dog Zeke.
Troy’s legacy of love, service, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
He left behind his son, Tyler Cammack, significant other Lindsay Usher (beloved dog, Zeke), his mom Jeanette Conliffe (Kenny), stepfather Bill Weber (Mindee), sisters Tara Schweitzer, Tammy Hailey (Phillip), Tina Durham (Jerry) and brother Todd Hutchison (Lisa) and David Schweitzer. He also had several nieces and nephews he adored Nathan, Emily, Justin, Christy, Jake, Cameran, Logan, Carson, Kaden and Lucy as well as many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Terry and Linda Cammack.
