

A funeral service to celebrate her life is scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfort Avenue. .
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church and a reception is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the church immediately following the funeral. A private burial is scheduled Friday, Dec. 3, where Lue Ann will be buried next to her daughter, Laura Lue, at Cave Hill Cemetery.
A service of remembrance and concert with the Fort Worth Opera is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth.

Lue Ann was born Sept. 24, 1931, in Waco, the only child of Neil S. and Effie Lue Foster. She was salutatorian of the 1949 class at Waco High School. She earned a B.A. in English in 1952 from Baylor University, where her father was professor and founder of the marketing department.
As a young bride in Louisville, she taught second grade while her then-husband, Dr. John R. Claypool IV, completed his seminary training.
A devoted Sunday school teacher, Lue Ann taught the young couples class as a member at Crescent Hill.
Her son Rowan described his mother as having an “effervescent and charming personality.” She was willful while being “upbeat, positive, with an easy smile and laugh.” Lue Ann was an extraordinarily elegant woman of impeccable taste and devotion to the arts.
Rowan also remembers her as a devoted and loving mother to his sister, Laura Lue, who died from leukemia at the age of 10 in Louisville.
Lue Ann returned to Fort Worth in 1981 and worked for about 12 years in the oil and gas industry. She was a founding member of Network for Enterprising Women. She especially savored the civic culture of her home, Fort Worth.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Lue Claypool, and longtime companion, H.G. Radford.
Survivors are her son, John Rowan Claypool V, and grandson, John Rowan Claypool VI, both of Louisville, and lifelong friends, Roblyn Herndon of Houston and Maggie Thomas of Fort Worth.
