She was the former Lula Ward and a native of Mississippi. Lula was a homemaker who loved to garden, sew and was a great cook. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star - Fairdale Chapter and Highview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Lonnie L. Hill; daughter, Shirley Dring and several siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James E. Hill, Roger D. (Brenda) Hill; sister, Betty Ann (Carl) Morris; brother, Julius E. Ward, Jr.; grandchildren, Pam, Angie, Terry, Susanne, and Frankie; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Jasmine, Krystal, Dustin, Miranda, Leigh, Jonathan, Justin, Jacob and Josh and great-great-granddaughter, Madison.
Lula's Celebration of Life service will be noon on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
