Marcia Gayle Howell

Marcia Howell, born November 18, 1941, to Clemmer and Margaret Hamilton, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

A gifted golfer in her youth, Marcia carried her love of the game throughout her life. She married Ronald (Ronnie) Howell in 1963 and dedicated herself to raising their three sons: Bryan (1967), Chip (1970), and Doug (1974). While Ronnie served in Vietnam, Marcia taught grade school, demonstrating her lifelong commitment to education. She later earned a Master's Degree in Education, balancing her studies with her career and family responsibilities.

Marcia and Ronnie instilled in their sons a deep appreciation for the outdoors, embarking on countless camping adventures. They prioritized their children's education and well-being, making significant sacrifices to ensure their success.

Bryan married Christie Riley, and they have two children, Lyle (with daughters Sofia and Leia-Rey) and Amanda. Doug married Tammy Mikesell, and they have two children, Calvin and Jezella. Chip is engaged to Jennifer Covington.

Marcia cherished her family deeply. The loss of her beloved husband, Ronnie, in 2000 left an enduring void, but she continued to be a loving and supportive mother to her sons.

Marcia will be remembered for her dedication to family, her love of the game of golf, and her unwavering commitment to education. She has found her way home and is again reunited with the love of her life, Ronnie.

visitation for Marcia will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A graveside service will occur Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park.
