So sorry to hear of loss. During this time there will be tears, but please keep in mind that even Jesus gave way to tears when someone he loved died. this occasion was recorded in the Bible at John 11:35.

From one who has experienced such grief, I offer my sympathy.

Old Barns and Old People

A stranger came by the other day, with an offer that set me to thinking
He wanted to buy the old barn out by the highway, I told him right off he was crazy
He was a city type, you could tell that by his clothes, his car, his hands and the way he talked 
He said he was driving by and saw that beautiful old barn sitting out in the tall grass and he wanted to know if it was for sale
I told him he had a funny idea of beauty.  Sure, it was a handsome building in its day
The summer sun's beat down on that old barn till all the paint's gone, and the wood has turned silver-gray
Now that old barn leans a good deal, lookin' kind of tired. Yet, that fellow called it beautiful.

That set me to thinking.  I walked out to the field and just stood there, gazing at that old barn.
The stranger said he planned to use the lumber to line the walls of his den in a new country home he's building down the road
He said you couldn't get paint that beautiful.  Only years of standing in the weather, bearing the storms and scorching sun - only that can produce beautiful barn wood

It came to me then, you and I, we're a lot like them old barns, only it's on the inside that beauty grows with us
We turn silver and gray too... and lean a bit more than we did when we were young and full of sap.
But the Good Lord knows what he's doing.  And as the years pass, He's busy using the hard weather of our lives, the dry spells and the stormy seasons to do a job of beautifying our souls that nothing else can produce.
And to think how often folks holler because they want life easy.

They took the old barn down today and hauled it away..to beautify a rich man's house.
And I reckon that one day you and I will be hauled off to heaven, to take on whatever the Good Lord has for us on the Great Sky Ranch
And I suspect we'll be more beautiful then for the seasons we've been through here
And maybe add a bit of beauty to our Father's House

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be

It is never easy to lose a loved one, I pray you find comfort in Gods promise found at John 6:40 which says that soon we will see all our loved ones again. My deepest condolences to the family.

I met Marie in 1961 when my family moved to Louisville. She was my other "Mom" as Bonnie and I became best friends spending as many weekends together as possible.  Fond memories of Marie &  Kelly will be with me always; their kindness was unwavering. My love and sympathy to all of you.

My momma.  Yes, you were a very good mother to us.  She was so confused the last few years and she asked me many times if she had been a good mother to us.  So, yes, momma, you were a very very good mother to us.

Please accept my sincerest condolences  (1 Thessalonians 4:14).

May the fond memories of your loved one soften your grief and may the God of tender mercies comfort you and gives you strength to endure the coming days.
