Marilyn L. Burkhead

She was married for 63 wonderful years to her beloved husband, Carl Burkhead, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a strong and loving family. She is also preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Schott Sr.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Richard Burkhead (Jenny), Terri “Dodie” Wilhelmi (Dan), Patti Schott-Cobb (Joe), and Andy Burkhead. She was a proud grandmother to David Schott Jr. (Shay), Chris Schott (Donna), Adam Schott (Joyce), Nicholas Schott (Bec), Sara Schott (Matt), Tara Dunagan (Timothy), and Andrew Gage Burkhead,16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and a host of extended family.

Marilyn, was a dedicated member of Aahmed Grotto Ladies Auxiliary and Queen Esther Chapter #1 of the Eastern Star, where she found community and purpose. To her family, she was always present, always cheering, and always giving her time with love and joy.

Marilyn will be remembered for her deep devotion to family, her unwavering spirit, and the light she brought to everyone around her. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and inspired.

Visitation will be 11:00AM - 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM.
