She was surrounded by her grandchildren John, Rebekah, grandson-in-love Cameron, daughter Shauna and son-in-law Frank. She knew she was not alone.
Marion retired from Civil Service as a bookkeeper and was also a veteran of the Women's Army Corp having served her country with honor. She was stationed in the USA and in Japan during the Korean War and loved the time she spent serving her country.
She spent her retired years traveling with her late husband Gene, loved working in the yard and was an avid reader. For the last 22yrs she moved along with her daughter’s family across the country with moves to TN, GA, KY, AZ, NC, UT, and back to KY. She loved meeting and making new friends and leaves behind many dear friends from all over the USA. The one constant sentiment from all who knew her was that she had the most beautiful smile and always made everyone feel loved. She always had an abundance of her favorite candy (Ferrero Rocher) to share with everyone and loved seeing their smiles when she handed them a piece or two.
Marion is preceded in death by her late husbands, Bobby Wright (of 20yrs), Melvin “Gene” Fenton (of 5yrs), parents Lloyd Waldrep & Ruby Caswell, sister Bobbie Ballew, and son Gary Wright.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter Shauna & son-in-law Frank Davis, grandchildren Mandi Esman, John Davis, Rebekah Davis & fiancé Cameron Jenner, great-grandchildren Chloe & Riley Daley, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all her caregivers and staff who treated her with kindness and love from the senior homes she has lived in over the years across the country, most recently Forest Hills Commons.
A very special thank you to the staff and her team from Hosparus who cared so gently and lovingly for her and her family during her last few months. You will forever be held in our hearts as angels walking this earth.
Per Marion’s wishes “Please remember me as you knew me in life…do not grieve but know that I am held in my Heavenly Fathers arms, pain free, happy and reunited with my loved ones who have gone before me.”
A small family service will be held in the spring to lay her ashes to rest with her beloved husband Gene in the Chattanooga National Veterans Cemetery with military honors. Marion loved the springtime and asked for her family to wait until then to lay her ashes to rest.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers or cards, donations be made to The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association in her name.
