She was born November 23, 1934 in Greensboro, NC, the youngest child of the late Lawrence W. and Florence (Rolls) Berrier. She was also preceded in death by her son, Cecil Harris; brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Berrier, James Berrier, Paul L. Berrier, Sr., and Robert “Bobby” Berrier; sisters, Mary (Berrier) Caviness, Catherine “Kat” (Berrier) Bostian; nieces, Lana (Berrier) Carter and Sandra Berrier; and a great-great niece, Brianna Berrier.
Martha’s family moved from Greensboro to Savannah, GA when she was young. She graduated from Savannah High School. She also lived in Virginia before moving to Charlotte, NC. She retired in 2015 as a legal secretary for Shumaker, Loop, & Kendrick in Charlotte, NC. She loved her job and the opportunity to be of service.
Survivors include multiple nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces.
A service celebrating Martha’s life will be conducted by her family at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange, KY.
