Martha "Joan" Leigh

Joan is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 60 years, Phillip Leigh Sr. , and their children, Phillip Leigh Jr. (Melissa) and Christopher P. Leigh (Allyson). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Spencer, Savannah, Atticus, and Olivia Leigh, and her adored great-grandchild, Lyla Leigh. Joan's memory will also be treasured by her siblings, Alice Rose Brumley, Barbara Murilla, Clara Smith, and Joseph Michael "Ike" Smith, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson Killian Leigh, as well as her siblings, Mary Teresa Combs , Silvia K Fogel, Dorothy Faye Buechel, Ann M. Webb, Joseph P., William P., and Frances Rhodie Smith.

A proud graduate of Bardstown High School in 1963. She was a member at St. Edwards Church, where she shared her faith and spirit with all those around her. Joan was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing with her husband, and flower gardener. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Joan's love for long walks, dancing with her husband, and singing filled her home with warmth and laughter. An exceptional cook and baker, she will be fondly remembered for the birthday cakes she lovingly prepared for her family each year on each of their birthdays.

Joan's radiant spirit and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the beauty of nurturing relationships, embracing passions, and celebrating every day to the fullest.

A visitation for Martha will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A visitation will occur Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.
