She was born on December 6, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to parents, Eugene “Gene” Burton & Clara Hargrove. She was a graduate of House of James Beautician School and a retiree of General Electric, where she worked on the assembly line for over 25 years. Jeannie was with the love of her life, Fred, for 45 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading books and traveling. In her travels, Jeannie saw many parts of the United States and the World. Florida was one of her mainstays, being a snow bird, with her love Fred. Enjoying Mackinac Island in Michigan, South Carolina, Illinois and California, even living there for a while. She also traveled abroad to Germany, traveling many places with her daughter Kathy, even taking a tour to Paris. One of Jeannie & Fred’s favorite places was their Camp on Lake Cumberland. Jeannie had a passion for gardening, Stargazers and Roses being her favorites. A member of the Wellman Wesleyan Church, she felt comfort and developed many friends through her loving church family. Her biggest accomplishment was her family.
Her husband of 45 years, Fred Pulliam; her parents, Eugene “Gene” Burton & Clara Hargrove; children, Darrell Hunt, Sr. and Alesia Hunt; one – grandson, Darrell Hunt, Jr, and sister, Delores Haynes precede Jeannie in her passing.
Left to cherish her loving and unforgettable memory is her children, Kathy (Roy) Ford – Little, Tammy (Carl) Watson; 6 – grandchildren, Jennifer & Laura, Kristi, Kendra, Joshua, Katie; 8 – great – grandchildren, Kaley, Kameron, Jaxon, River, Trenton, Tristan, Addison and Tatum; brother, Eugene “Junior” Burton; and daughter – in – law, Sherry Hunt; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Veteran Garden of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums, where she will rest eternally with her husband, Fred. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
