Born in Adair County to the late O.G. and Lorena Rowe, Mary was a retired school
crossing guard for the City of Louisville, a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church, and an avid caretaker and lover of cats and dogs.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband V.R. Derting. She is survived by her daughter Terry Derting; nephew, Dr. Rick Rowe; and niece Della Rowe.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28 from 1-8 pm and on Monday, December 29 from 12-6 pm at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. Her funeral will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday, December 30 at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Louisville Memorial Garden West.
