

Mary Lou Norris departed this life on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her home in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born the 2nd of eleven children to the late Jack and Alice Wyckoff on December 10, 1923 in Alexander City, Alabama.
She received her education in the public school system in Alexander City, Alabama.
On April 2, 1940, Mary Lou Wyckoff married Joe Roosevelt Norris. She was a mother and a wife for fifty-six years. She was a mentor to her all of her family and friends.
She retired from three careers, which included Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company, Red Roof Inn, and Jewish Hospital.
Many will hold Mary Lou Norris dear in their hearts. They will remember her as a kind and caring person, who was always giving herself to help others. She will be fondly missed by all of her family and many friends whose lives she so deeply touched.
Mary Lou Norris is survived by her seven children, Robert, James, Jack, Oretha Simms (John), Marsha Driscoll (Hubert), Ronnie Washington and Yvonne Washington; four sisters, Mary Walls Thomas, Marie Owens, Mary Alice Pierre, and Betty Morgan (Raymond); two brothers, Willie Jean and Freddie Wyckoff (Charlotte); twenty-two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
