Mary Lou Stokes

Mary Lou was a lifelong follower of Jesus and dedicated her life to caring for those she loves.

Her favorite verse, "Be still and know that I am God," gave her great comfort even during the most challenging of times. She wholeheartedly loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She will be missed immensely.

Mary Lou retired from Target corporation after over 30 years of service.

Left to cherish in her memory are her children, Tim Stokes (Kathy), Joy Stokes, and Mark Stokes (Jennifer); granddaughter, Autumn Stokes, Hailey Stokes, Kayla Stokes, Christina Capps, and Angelia Collins; great grandchildren; Peyton and Emma Capps; 3 great great grandchildren siblings Terry Payne (Charlotte) and Martha Payne.

Mary Lou has now reunited with her "love of a lifetime," husband, Raymond Stokes, and her parents Luie and Maevell Payne.

The family would like to thank Hosparus for their care and support.

A visitation for Mary will be held Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.
