Hello Ruth,

Recently learned about the passing of Mike.  My sincerest condolences, thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this saddest of times.  Mike will be very much missed by family, friends and the fireworks community, including me.  He was a fine man and always a pleasure to talk with.  I remember our trip to China, Macau and the orient and had a great deal of fun with you and him.  I wish you and your family all the best and hope that in this time of trouble you will take care of yourself.  Thank you.

My sentiments echo David Lynch's. Mike was indeed a character . . a big, lovable bear of a character! I exchanged many emails over the years with Mike and got a kick out of every one of them. It's been several years since I've visited the Artist Thunder Farm, but have the fondness of memories of the fellowship, the food, the laughs and the hospitality shown both by Mike and Ruth. I will cherish those memories forever.

Just learned of Mikes passing on PML, very sad indeed. As others have already said Mike will be sadly missed in the pyro community. Glad to have seen him again in Fargo. I was so sorry to hear about your loss.  What words can I say to express how very sad I am for you during this time? 22 years ago I was lucky enough to work up the courage to give Mike a phone call.  That was the beginning of my admiration and friendship for someone we all know was very special.  Like so many that knew him, Mike's passion in all that he did has left a big mark on my life and what came be a loved business for both Mike and I.

I can only say one thing at this point, and that is you are not alone right now, as Leslie and I have you and your family in our thoughts and in our hearts.

I do not have the words to express my true feelings of the loss of a friend and mentor that Mike Korbylo was to me and many others. Mike was always eager to talk fireworks, ideas, and business at anytime of the day or night... I learned a great deal from him and had so much fun and enjoyment while doing it.
