Nancy came into my life when Roger and our son, Jeff, were cute little boys.  They are now 42 years old.  She was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life.  She never said a bad word about anyone and always was looking for the good in everyone.  We had so many happy times when our boys were growing up and playing hockey together.  Nancy had a very special place in my heart and we will be together again someday in heaven.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the Life.

Mom, I know I'm the last one to write, just like me being the last one to show up at holidays.   I would walk in and say, " Sorry, I am late...I didn't want to come " and you would giggle and say that you were glad I made it.  This was one of those times that I didn't want to do something like that.  I wanted to wake up from this dream and my Mom still be here with us.  I still can't believe that she is gone.  I can hardly breathe at times, but I know that she is no longer in pain and that comforts me.  It still doesn't make the pain without her here any less for me, but I'm happy she is not suffering anymore. 

 My Mother gave everything to us kids and never complained about it.  She never did anything for herself, because it was always about us kids.  She, always said, all she needed in life was us kids and her family.  We didn't have much growing up, but what we did have was our Mother’s unconditional love.  She never gave up on us, no matter what we did, and where our life took us.  She was always there with her love and open arms.  

One of my favorite memories of my childhood was when my Mom was taking a bath,  and I would bust through the door and lock it behind me.  I would then wash her hair, and almost always get shampoo in her eyes.  We would talk about a bunch of nothing, but it didn't matter to me.  I just wanted my Mom to myself for a short time.  When things were crazy in my life, I knew that no matter what,  my Mom was always there for me.  She would often tell me to come spend the night with her, so I would, and we would stay up like schoolgirls giggling.  I will forever cherish those moments with you Mom.

I got sober and got the chance to make amends with her, and she was so proud of Michael and me.  Her daughter was finally back, and she got the peace she needed before she left us, and I am very blessed to have gotten to share her last moments here.  I will be sober, Mom, just like I promised you  and I can't wait to see you again.

I guess now is the perfect time to let everyone know that for my first birthday, you sent my parents a card on December 10th, when my birthday was really the 9th. You made it a joke for all the years after to write on my cards that now you really knew my real birthday. I miss you everyday, and I still have ever single birthday card from the last 17 years, I read them frequently. It pains me that you are no longer here, but it also brings me peace you are no longer in pain. We miss you so much- save me a spot up there grandma

My lovely mom was my best friend and the best mom ever!

I am thankful I had the opportunity to care for her these last 8 plus years.  I was so blessed and I wanted to make her happy or have to worry about anything. She gave her whole life to us, never complained about anything, and all she wanted was for us to be happy.  She was always there for us no matter what. 

Family was everything to her. She worked so hard raising us and did the best she could.  She worked as many jobs as she could to make sure we had roof over our head and food on the table. It was a very hard life sometimes, but she said we have each other, and we are family, and we will make it. We were the lucky ones. 

Her faith was strong, and prayers were always said for us all.  I grew up knowing my mom was a amazing person. She always thought of others, and we would help others anyway we could, because they needed help. She was always full of love, smiles, and always made you feel important . I don't think she ever met a stranger that didn't have kind word for her.

She always said we grew up together and I was her right arm, but she was my rock.  I knew from a young age we were a team and did all I could to help her be that strong person I knew she was and say "no" when she couldn't.  She was trusting, loyal, selfless, and never condemning.

She was the best cook!  She always enjoyed big family meals and events with everyone.  She was pretty funny and we laughed a lot about things.  Several years ago, she promptly gave back her first cell phone and said it didn't work, because It didn't have a dial tone. She was so funny and cute.

I miss her so much and love her dearly. I feel as if I lost part of my heart and I can't believe that she gone. I hope that I will always make her proud and try to be amazing like her. I wish I could hug her and tell her again how much I love her and thank her for all she did for our family. Until we meet again in paradise mom I love you and miss you so much.

You made the greatest referee for Blake and I's wrestling matches. He always thought he won, but you and I know the real results. Please look over our family in this crazy world we live in now.

Grandma Nance ... Sitting Here trying to piece together how to put into words how amazing you were ... Tears stream down my face ... Because still its so hard to believe that I am sitting here writing about you instead of sitting at your table drinking coffee with you ... That was our thing coffee and just sitting and talking ... I miss our talks ... your laugh was one of a kind .... I remember this past year for my birthday Grandma sent me a card ... As she did every year ... Well, this one by far was the best ... On the envelope it had my name and the address ... So, I open it ... And it was a card for her " son in law" ha ha ...my step dad's birthday is about a week after mine ... So, I called her and said Grams ... I got your card, but I think that you sent me the wrong one ... It says for your "son in law"... she started laughing and said, well hell I didn't mean to send you that one ... 
        30 years of memories.... growing up with you always around ... It wasn't enough gram ... I know it sounds so selfish ... Never thought I would have to face this day ... I miss you like crazy ...  just to hear your voice again i'd give anything ... You were a strong woman and you fought like crazy in the hospital ... Everyday I am reminded of you ... The last few days being able to spend with you I'll cherish forever ... I love you so much grams ... I know one day I'll get to see your beautiful face and hear your laugh again .... I could go on and on,  but one things for sure ... You always made everyone feel welcome and would do anything for anyone ... I miss you terribly, but I know that you are looking down on us and I am happy to know that you are not in anymore pain ....

I feel beyond blessed to be marrying into this loving family. I’ve known Grandma Nancy for the ten years that I have dated her grandson Blake. Ten years ago I remember making the connection between my mom working at Baptist East hospital and Grandma Nancy also working there. My mom had known Grandma Nancy for years because of going through her line in the cafeteria. After starting to date her grandson I soon met Grandma Nancy myself. We quickly made the connection of my mom and the hospital. It’s such a small world. I remember countless times of visiting her house with Blake. We would show up unannounced and she always welcomed us both in. I would sit at the kitchen table with her, while Blake laid on the couch. Blake would always end up falling asleep. I never had to think of things to say or force the conversation, it just came naturally. We would laugh, make fun of Blake, and have to wake him up to head home. 
I remember carving pumpkins on the back patio with grandma, Blake, and Olivia one fall. We collected the pumpkin seeds and she baked them for us to eat. 
When Blake first decided to join the army and went away for basic training I would often spend time with Amanda after classes. I drove to her apartment and we would then both ride out to grandma Nancy’s house. I remember evenings spent just talking on the back porch together. When Blake was deployed to Afghanistan for 9 months I again leaned on his family for support. Everyone welcomed me and invited me to their get-togethers while he was gone. I never felt out of place, but instead felt as if this was my own family as well. I considered grandma Nancy my grandmother as well. The pain felt by her family during her last days, I also felt. The support and love that was expressed by everyone surrounding her during her last moments was something I will never forget. I felt Gods presence in that hospital room. Today I feel comfort in knowing she is in heaven. And one day I will again see her.

Grandma,
Man do we all miss you. Not a day goes by that we all don't think about you. What I would give to hear your voice again or to feel your big ol' hug before I would leave from visiting you. Grandma Nancy was truly a one of a kind woman. Nobody and I mean nobody will ever compare to you in my book. You were truly the worlds Greatest Grandmother, and I could always count on you no matter what.
My Favorite memory I have happened about 10 years ago, Makaela and I were on our 2nd date, we went up to the El Nopal in fern creek. We have our dinner, and when it comes to pay well my card declines and there was no way in the world I was making her pay, so as I had her wait inside near the register I told her I had to go make a phone call. I step outside and I called Grandma. About 5 minutes later, here she comes about 20 miles per hour through the parking lot in that green Chevy Cavalier she had, tires still smoking, with 40 dollars in cash to pay for our dinner. To this day Makaela still wont let me live it down, that I had to have my grandma come bail us out of that situation. Every one who knew Grandma, knows that is the type of person she was, she would make sure everybody had what they needed before she would even think about herself.  
There is not a day that goes by that you are not on my mind, I love you with all my heart Grandma and I miss you so very much. 


  Nancy was my mother-in-law, but to me, she was  so much more than that. Anyone who truly new Nancy knows that she was the most accommodating, selfless, and giving person you could meet. I remember when Brenda and I started dating we would visit her mother, seeing how she and Brenda both worked at Baptist East Hopsital. We'd have lunch in the cafeteria where she worked and she was always so happy, dawning that sweet smile she had. 
  I never once felt uncomfortable or like an outsider around her and the rest of the family. She instilled in them the same receptive, accommodating , and selfless qualities that she possessed. 
  Nancy lived a life of total and uncompromising dedication to the well being and happiness of her family. I've never been so moved by anyone's selflessness. She truly live a life without striving after her own desires or needs. Her humility was evident in evey day of her life. 
  I'm so thankful for her strengths and her cultivating her relationship with God. I know that if there is anyone who deserves his grace , she does.  I can recall feeling his presence in her final moments, with all of her family gathered around her, praying and letting her know we'd  be ok, it was time for her to finally rest, and that she could go to Jesus  knowing she'd given her all to her children and God. 
  Nancy was a beacon of light to our family, a stronghold,  and the bonding strength that kept us connected and integrated in each others lives. I am so thankful to have known her. I am so thankful for the qualities she instiled in my wife and her other children, and I am thankful to have loved and been loved by her. 
  Rest easy dear mother. We will do our best to honor the legacy of your love and sacrifices knowing that you are watching over us.

The memories I remember is when she came to Minnesota to visit. When she arrived her car was stuffed with snacks. She always had her favorite.. HONEY BUNS! When I woke up I could smell breakfast and coffee made. When I went downstairs and saw her she smiled at me and said " well good morning!". She would pour me a cup of coffee and we sat at the dinner table and talked.. and shared a few laughs too. I remember she laughed pretty hard when I mimicked my mom's mad face.. everyone knows that one.. sorry mom. When it was her time to leave.. I admit I cried.. it was never long enough. I love her so much. I miss her dearly. She was always giving and never expected anything in return. That's was she instilled in me. Thank you Grandma for all the memories and love! I will never forget you

There is not much more to say that has already been said about how wonderful our mother was.  
   As a child, I think I was the worst one that pushed her patience to the limit. I asked too many questions and had a potty mouth. I remember my mom telling me to watch my mouth or she's going to nock my teeth in. My mom was a easy push over and she would never hurt us. As an adult, I felt shameful for some things I said and did when I was young. I would buy her cards for holidays, her birthday, and Mother's Day that were from the heart saying how much I respect, appreciate, and love everything she has done for me.
   I remember all the good times we had visiting Kentucky. Mom would make my favorite foods, especially roast beef sandwich and gravy . If mom was cooking the whole family would be over to eat. Mom was a good cook and she enjoyed having all of her kids together. I wish I could of had more time with her as an adult.
 I miss talking to my mom on the phone. If I was depressed or lonely I would call her and she would make me feel so much better. I'm going to miss her sweet cards ,her hugs and I love you.
There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of her. When I think about all the memories and talk about my mom I can't help but cry. I will miss you forever until I die.  See you someday in heaven.

I have tried so many times to write what my heart feels, words just simply are not enough to express what my love for my Mom is on paper.

My Mom was the hardest working woman I had ever known.  She never missed a day of work, always provided a roof over our heads and home cooked meals so the five of us never went hungry.  She loved so deeply, when she would hug you, you didn't just feel her arms, you felt the true love in her heart touch yours.  She was strong but gentle.  She was smart yet humble.  She was a Mother who lived life through the love she had for her family.  She was my world, my strength, my guidance, my rock.  She was my teacher, my doctor, my counselor, she was my everything, she was my Mom.

As painful as it is losing her, as deeply as it hurts missing her, I know she is in heaven next to God, right where she belongs.  I just know Grandpa and Grandma Berger, Uncle Bill, Aunt Joyce, Aunt Carol and Jodi were right there to greet you Mom.

It is never going to be the same without her here with us, you were our foundation we built our families on. You are the root to our tree, that will forever grow strong due to the nurturing you gave us and taught us to pass on but I will never stop missing the sound of your voice, your laughter, you singing happy birthday to me, your cards, your calls and everything about you.  I was so Blessed to have you as my Mother.  I love you Mom

She truly was the kindest, most caring and thoughtful person I’ve ever met.

She made sure you had a birthday card to open from her every year, even started sending my husband birthday cards. Her cards were always signed “love and miss you, grandma Nancy” - I will miss these, but know if there was a way, she would be sending us all birthday cards from Heaven. 

Growing up, I remember the endless candy dishes filled with candy throughout her house and her always having sweets and snacks on hand. I remember a Kentucky trip, we were all over at Tammy’s swimming and grandma shows up with grocery bags full of snacks and sticky buns (she loved her sticky buns)- probably had enough to open up a concession stand! 

She came to Minnesota for a visit one summer and we decided we should grill out. Eric wasn’t home yet and I thought I could start the grill. Long story short, I did not start the grill, but turned on the gas, hit the ignite switch and poor grandma Nancy was sitting there by the grill and went flying to the deck floor to take cover as the grill let out a boom. After getting off her hands and knees and back in her chair she turns around and asks if I’m ok! I’m sure there was probably a “what the hell” that was said too, but this was a true testament of how caring she was. She wasn’t worried about her falling or the  scrape on her knee, she wanted to make sure I was ok. Thankfully everyone was OK and we giggled a lot that night and anytime we talked about it after.

In her final days I remember walking into the hospital and getting to tell her in person I was pregnant with a girl! She shared the same joy in this news as I did. Even with her oxygen mask on, I could see her big smile and hear her sweet reply “oh, you are!!” In those same days when we were all there to take care of her, she was still wanted to care for us! 

Cherishing these memories and so many more- Love and miss you grandma Nancy! 

Grammy pooh, Glam-ma, Granny ( because she hated it) lol  just a few of the many names I had for her.  One thing I enjoyed most was making her laugh. It was never a dull moment when she was around me, we would laugh the entire time.  I remember when she first opened facebook and I wrote on a piece of paper, step by step because she would get so lost and confused. She called me a 100xs just to tell me somthing popped up and she dont know what to do lol I miss her terribly and would give anything in this world to sit down and have just one more cup of coffee with her. It brings joy to my heart, that she left this world knowing just how much she meant to me. She was someone i looked up to ... I loved her so much!! Grandma I will forever cherish your memories, not a day goes by that I don't think of you.

Nancy’s kind heart and loving soul has forever left an imprint on our hearts on what a true child of God should be. 

 She set an example of what a wonderful mom should be—she worked hard to ensure her kid’s needs/wants were well taken care of and loved them unconditionally. 

She defined what a loving grandmother should be—she took care of her grandkids when needed, remembered all of their birthdays, gave them presents when she didn’t have much to give, and ensured her grandkids had all the junk food that their parents wouldn’t give them. Ha ha. 

As we know, Nancy was not only a loving mother, sister and grandmother, she was also a loyal friend. She displayed what a good friend should be by making sure she kept in touch with those near and far.

For the past 16 years and 2 months, I’ve witnessed all of the above as her daughter in-law. Words can’t described how blessed I am to have had a mother in-law that loved and cared for me as if I was one of her daughters.  She was always there for me when I’ve needed a mother figure by my side. She was the best woman I’ve ever met. Her laughter, sense of humor, delicious home cooked meals, kindness, worth ethics and her compassion to be the best person she could be will always flood our memories forever. 

We miss you everyday Nancy. Thank you for watching over us.  We are happy that your in heaven free of pain and having a ball with your family.

Mom was an amazing woman in so many ways and the ultimate role model for anyone to follow.  She was loving, kind, caring, thoughtful, respectful, hardworking, loyal, and consistent.  She was the matriarch of our family and was the centerpiece of everything for us.  I owe everything in my life to this remarkable mom, and there is no question the positive impact she had on me and anyone else that was lucky enough to spend time with her.  The courage, strength, and character she had was inspiring.  Growing up, we didn't have a lot in terms of material things, but we were rich with love in our family, because of Mom.  I will always take great pride in knowing that I am the son of one of the most beautiful women inside and out to ever grace this earth, and will be forever grateful for my time with her.  It gives me great comfort to know that I have the ultimate guardian angel looking over Jackie, Carter, and I for the rest of our lives.  Our family will carry on her legacy for eternity.  I love you Ma!

We grew up together, our two families and Aunt Nanc always made me smile. She was so kind and so funny. Her kids , my cousins, are awesome! My mom Darlene Jacobson and Aunt Nanc were always doing shenanigans and they always made the best of what they had. They are tearing it up together in heaven now!

Grandma Nancy was a very strong family woman.  There was never a dull moment when we all spent time together in Kentucky with her and the rest of the family.  The most enjoyable time was when I got to spend quality time with her in Kentucky where we would sit down most mornings and drink a cup of coffee together. Grandma was always lovable and cheerful all the time. There’s nothing but good things to remember her by. I love you Grandma. 

Aunt Nancy you were such an inspiration to me. Your dedication to taking care of your family. You never complained you just worked harder. I will miss you
