Nihad Sora

Nihad Sora, a man whose spirit burned with unwavering strength and whose heart beat with fierce devotion to his family, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy that will echo. Born on July 1, 1941, in Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan, Iraq, Nihad lived a life marked by resilience, courage, and an indomitable will that carried him through every challenge fate placed before him.

Nihad is survived by his beloved wife, Suhair al Saffar, his steadfast companion and the love of his life, who stood beside him through all of life's trials and triumphs. He leaves behind his cherished children: Vian and her husband Jed, Dalia, and Shwan and his wife Nicole. His legacy continues to flourish in his beautiful grandchildren, Ranya and Kardo, who love and will never forget their fun-loving Jidu, who always had “a twinkle in his eye”, beloved and young at heart.

A man who lived with fire in his soul, Nihad faced adversity not with resignation but with determination. Throughout his life, he demonstrated what it means to be a true survivor—never deterred, never defeated, always moving forward with dignity and purpose. His strength was not merely physical but resided in his character, his principles, and his unwavering commitment to those he loved.

To know Nihad was to know what it meant to persevere, to stand tall in the face of hardship, and to protect and provide for family above all else. His grandchildren will carry his stories, his wisdom, and his example into the future, ensuring that the flame he kindled will never be extinguished.

Nihad is also survived by countless loving friends and family members whose lives he touched with his presence, his generosity, and his unforgettable spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though he has left this world, Nihad Sora's legacy lives on—in the strength of his children, in the laughter of his grandchildren, and in the hearts of all who loved him. His was a life well-lived, a fire that burned bright and true.

Rest in peace, Nihad. Your journey was remarkable, and your memory will be eternal.

A memorial service to celebrate Nihad's life will be held on October 25 at 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady and Son - Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206. All who knew and loved Nihad are welcome to join his family in honoring his memory and celebrating a life so remarkably lived.
