He was born in Indianapolis IN to the late Frank Dixon and Eva Belle Dixon. He graduated from Howe High School in 1946 and attended Indiana University. He was a production manager for Starr Draperies for 20 years. Norman was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Louisville Bonsai Society, Cornell Trace Men's Breakfast Club and Ascension Lutheran Church, and was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63 years, Peggy Jean Millen Dixon; his three children, Sheryl Vanderstel (David), Jack Edward Dixon (Beth), Barbara Kay Vest (Stephen); and 10 grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, with inurnment in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
