Orick Alonzo Story III

Orick A. Story III, 63, went to sleep in death on November 27, 2023. He was born December 17th, 1959 from the union of Orick A. Story II and Annette Story. Orick graduated from Butler High School and then went on to attend Western Kentucky University. There he met Carol (Penny) Ray. The two dated and married September 30, 1978. From that union came two children Michael and Aundrea. Orick also had a previous son, Arick Williams. Orick studied the Bible and dedicated his life to Jehovah on July 21st, 1979. Orick joined the Louisville Fire Department in 1986 and enjoyed a daily game of chess with his sister, Kiiiiiimberly. He went to aviation school and became an licensed ariel mechanic. Orick taught himself the guitar and the keyboard and his goal was to learn to play the JW original songs on his keyboard.

Orick was preceded in death by his father, Orick Story II; son, Michael Story; siblings, Thomas Story, Nina Benjamin; and cousin, Michael Gudger.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Annette Story; children, Aundrea Story-Newcombe (Syl), Arick Williams (Michelle); 10 grandchildren; siblings, Sigrid Story, Kimberly Ward (Joel), Otis Story (Dorothy); his favorite mother-in-law, Helen M. Ray; grandpups Peaches and Buttercup; and many extended family and loving friends.

A memorial gathering will be on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1pm-6pm at Arch L Heady Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy 40219. Cremation was chosen.
