

Patricia “Pat” Hovenden, aged 85, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, in Louisville, KY, following a brave battle with Interstitial Lung Disease. She was the cherished wife of Harold Hovenden, sharing 66 wonderful years of marriage with him.
Born on February 13, 1940, in Anniston, AL, Pat was the daughter of Minnie Lee Ponder and Robert Lindsey. As the devoted spouse of an Army serviceman for 30 years, Pat supported her husband’s career with unwavering dedication and grace. Her life was a testament to love and devotion, as she created a warm and nurturing home for her husband and their four cherished children.
Pat found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and was known for fostering a loving and welcoming environment. Her homemade biscuits were legendary, and she took immense pride in never missing a holiday or birthday, marked by the many cards she sent each year.
Her generosity and loving support for her family were unmatched, and she never hesitated to offer help to anyone in need. Pat also had a passion for gardening, finding peace and satisfaction in nurturing her plants. In her earlier days, she was an avid bowler, often advising and encouraging others in the sport.
Pat is survived by her devoted husband, Harold; her loving children, David (Danette) Hovenden, Gary (Nancy) Hovenden, and Janet (Tony) Whelan; and her adored grandchildren: Chris, Sumer, Damon, Evan, Keane, and Austin. She also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren: Deana, Haylee, Logan, Maverick, and Emma. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leroy, her sisters Mary, Betty, and Caroline, and her son Joel Hovenden.
The family invites you to join them in celebrating Pat’s life on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven & Resthaven Memorial Park. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
