He was a former employee at Standard Publishing in Cincinnati and a retired minister with Okolona Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mary Ernestine Fodal Childers.
He is survived by a daughter, Judy Meneely and her husband, Tom Meneely; three grandsons, Scott and his wife, Jill, (Ft. Benton, MT), Alan and his wife, Beth, (Ft. Wayne, IN) and Andy and his wife, Emily, Meneely (Indianapolis, IN); and five great-grandchildren including Kaitlyn and Derek Meneely of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Zach Menelly of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Austin and Brooklyn Levernier of Fort Benton, Montana. He also leaves four nieces, one nephew and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services will be Friday at 7pm at Okolona Christian Church, 10801 Faithful Way, with interment on Saturday, April 28th, at Woodmere Cemetery in Huntington, WV. Visiting will be at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 8519 Preston Highway, on Thursday from 3pm until 8pm and at the church on Friday from 4pm until time of service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Pine Haven Christian Children’s Ranch in care of the Okolona Christian Church.
