

Born May 31, 1929 in Columbus, GA, she was the daughter of the late Frances Louise Foley Meier and John Thomas Foley. She was a graduate of Jordan Vocational High School in Columbus and briefly attended Troy State Teachers College in Troy, AL. She was married to the late Brigadier General Donald Jean Thomas for 55 years. She was a faithful follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and member of Evangel World Prayer Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother, great-grandmother and prayer warrior. She believed in God's Word and held fast to her favorite scripture "I have been young and now I am old. And in all years I have never seen the Lord forsake a man who loves him; nor have I seen the children of the godly go hungry. Instead, the godly are able to be generous with their gifts and loans to others and their children are a blessing." Psalm 37: 25-26.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brigadier General Donald Jean Thomas, USAR; and her brother, James Thomas Foley.
She is survived by three children, Linda Annett of Hamilton, MI, Donna McClennen of Fort Mill, SC and David Thomas of Louisville; eight grandchildren, Gretchen Williams of Holland, MI, Matthew Annett of Holland, Jennifer Brown of Lanham, MD, Melissa Brewington of Fort Mill, Stacey Waller of Little River, SC, Amy Fite of Charleston, SC, Kimberly Bozeman of Valdosta, GA, and Joel McClennen of Fort Mill; and 13 great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ashley Williams, Jadyn Brown, Grant, Gunner and Grace Brewington, Zachary and Chase Waller, Anderson Fite, Brooks and Isabella Bozeman and Mackenzie and Madelyn McClennen.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, Westport Road at Herr Lane, with a brief graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
