He was a retired volunteer Firefighter for Buechel Fire Department and a retired Firefighter in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Survivors include his children, Stacy Hanson (James), Andrea Schulz (Keith), Teresa Whittiker (Suddie) and Patricia Darling (Chad); siblings, Helen Ball, Doris Siers (Larry), Barbara Edelen, Bonnie Heady (Robert) Linda Harrington and David Harrington (Shirley) and five grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday 2pm at Evergreen Funeral Home with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 11 am Wednesday until the time of the service.
The family would like to request that memorial donations in Philip's name be directed to Hosparus of Louisville or the American Heart Association.
