Ralph was born September 20, 1939, in Monroe, Michigan, where he attended school until he moved with his mother and siblings to Bakersfield, California in July 1948. He graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1957 and attended Bakersfield Junior College.
Ralph moved to Santa Monica, CA and started his professional career with the National Cash Register Company. He moved to La Jolla, California and became one if the first residents of Genesee Highlands. Ralph made many lifelong friends from his work and while living in La Jolla.
He worked for NCR over 40 years. His various assignments allowed him to travel extensively to many foreign countries overseeing the installation of NCR equipment and training operators in their use.
Ralph was a supporter and friend of the San Diego Zoo, always encouraging others to visit and enjoy the zoo.
Ralph had a lifelong love of dogs, in particular his Doberman Pincer “Damien” and his beloved Rottweiler “Jack.”
He retired in 2002 and subsequently moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 2019.
Ralph will be remembered as a wonderful brother and uncle. He was also a mentor to many young people who he helped with their new careers. His dry humor will be greatly missed as well as his frequent and humorous emails which have been a joy for many.
Ralph is preceded in death by his brother, George, and his nephew, Allen Gould. He is survived by his sister, Lola (Max) Lathum. He leaves behind four nieces, one nephew, six great nieces, three great nephews, two great-great nephews and two great-great nieces and numerous friends.
