

Ralph Carter Lasure, 64, of Bardstown, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his residence. He was born on April 18, 1950 in Stanford, KY to Manles and Grace Gilpin Lasure. Carter was a Campbellsville University graduate, where he met his wife of 39yrs Dorinda, and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern Kentucky University. After teaching 4 years in Lincoln County, he retired from Bethlehem High School after 31 years teaching English Literature and Greek Mythology, and later taught at Bluegrass Christian Academy.
Carter was very involved in the speech and drama programs at Bethlehem, leading them to Regionals, State and Catholic Nationals in Washington DC. In 2004, he was inducted into the KY High School Speech League Hall of Fame, and each summer he loved to travel with students on study tours to Europe. He was a mentor to many and a thoughtful, kind, and genuine person. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife; Dorinda Bradbury Lasure, son; Chris Lasure (Meredith); three grandchildren, Lauren Yaste, Logan Livers and Samuel Lasure, five siblings; Mary Alice Still, Manles Lasure Jr., Paul Lasure, Charles Lasure and Alberta Wood, and numerous nieces and nephews.
To honor Carter’s wishes the family has chosen cremation with a celebration of Carter’s life be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Down’s Syndrome of Louisville, 5001 S. Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville KY 40291.
