He was a loving father and husband, a retired GE employee after 36 years of employment. Ray was an Army Veteran of World War II serving in Italy, and a devoted member and active Deacon of Melbourne Heights Baptist Church.
Ray is preceded in death by Mayme and Alana Rae Bastin.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ann Bastin, daughters, Marilyn Hicks (Marshall) and JoAnn Searcy, and a sister Ruth Cline. Ray is also survived by five grandsons and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate Ray’s life will be conducted at 10 am Monday, June 30, 2014 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday June 29, 2014 from 3-8 pm and after 9am the day of the funeral.
