Born to the late Joseph Flood and Lois Ewing, Rocky is also preceded in death by his adoring wife of 47 years, Judith "Judy" Flood; and his son Christopher Flood.
Here to carry on his memory is his daughter, Stacey Topp (John); grandchildren Lindsey Summers, Sarah O'Shea (Jacob), Kristina Harris (Taylor), and Russell Topp; 7 great-grandchildren, Emma Summers, Nora Summers, Corbin Summers, Maverick O'Shea, Aiden O'Shea, Beckham Harris, and one more on the way; his sister-in-law Becky Patteson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rocky retired from LG&E after working for over 45 years as a Computer Graphics Technician Specialist. He was an avid gun collector, and he enjoyed fishing, the lake, watching westerns, and spending time with his family and beloved dog Fonzy. He also enjoyed listening to Elvis. His words of wisdom and encouragement will be missed by many friends and family. He never hesitated to crack a joke when comic relief was needed, and ensured that his family was well taken care of and had everything they needed and wanted.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY 40218. A funeral service in Rocky's honor will begin at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the funeral home. Rocky will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the ICU and PICU staff at Norton Audubon Hospital for the care they provided while he was in their care.
