Robert A. Blair, 81, passed away Saturday, April 9th, 2016. He was born in Louisville on December 12, 1934 to the late Chelsea and Joyce Farmer Blair. Bob retired from General Electric after 38 years and had just celebrated 30 years of sobriety through AA. He was a member of Larchmont Church of God and enjoyed bowling, gardening and horseshoes. Bob loved spending time fishing on Rough River with his family. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend and will truly be missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Valorie Geralds (Larry) and Donnie Blair (Sharon), grandchildren; Derrick (Samantha) and Travis Geralds, Lindsey and Trevor Blair, step grandchildren; Scottie and Chris Geralds, step great grandchildren; MaKayla, Brianna, Jayden and Brycein, his brother, Kenny Blair (Judy).
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Cecelia Blair, his son, David Allen Blair and a brother, Douglas Blair.
A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 2 pm in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Rd, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Monday from 3-8 pm and on Tuesday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
