He was a retired newspaper pressman for the Courier Journal having worked there for 40 years, and was a 4 year veteran of the Air Force, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic.
Bob was a man of many talents. He was an airplane pilot and had a passion for flying. He also loved hunting and fishing, as well as creating beautiful works of art with stained glass, making a wide variety of pieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth. Survivors include his son James Ford (Jill); and grandchildren Spencer and Sydney Ford, Lauren Stinson, Aaron Smith (Charity), and AJ Smith.
Visitation will be held from 1-7 pm Tuesday at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. His funeral service will be held at 10 am Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by cremation.
