

73, born December 26, 1937, died May 7,
2011 from complications of heart disease at an
assisted living facility in Palm Beach Gardens,
FL.
He was a native of Louisville and had lived in
the Palm Beach County area of southeast
Florida for almost 30 years, more recently in
Hobe Sound, FL.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy prior to
becoming a financial services and insurance
executive for many years and
had many close friends and associates
throughout Palm Beach County through his
business, church and charitable participation.
He deeply cared for the needy and homeless.
He was a founding member of Cafe Joshua, as
well as being involved with The Lord’s Place,
both well-known, established Palm Beach
County organizations dedicated to assisting the
homeless and needy community in many positive
ways.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents,
Otis Cox and Catharine Miles Cox; a young
son, Eric Brent Cox, in 1975; brothers,
Charles, John, Harold and Larry.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanda
(Conley) Cox; his sons, Scott Anthony Cox
(Carol Deegan Cox), of Palm Beach Gardens
and Kevin Robert Cox, of Austin, TX; twin
granddaughters, Alyssa Anne Cox Slampa,
USAF (Bric), of Louisiana and Erica Leigh
Cox; great-grandson, Jayden Edward Byars, of
Mabank, TX; brothers, Jerry, Ted, Joe, Kenneth
and Paul; sisters, Marjorie Saul (Bob),
Mary Vining (Chick) and Theresa Pinkston
(Steve); and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday and 10
am.-noon Saturday at Arch L. Heady & Son
Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville,
KY, 40222, followed by a homegoing
Mass at the funeral home with internment following
at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was
also held in Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations
be made in Bob’s name to Cafe Joshua,
2808 N. Australian Blvd., West Palm Beach,
FL, 33407.
