Robert T. “Whitey”, passed away at his home Thursday, May 9, 2013.
He was born August 6, 1923 in Erie, PA to the late Everett L. and Mary Helen Pratt Hewitt.
Mr. Hewitt was a WWII Naval Veteran; serving our country as a Radio Tech, he was also a KY Colonel, a member of the ELFUN Society and Retired from GE after 40 years of employment .
Along with his wife, Ellen Volgstadt Hewitt; granddaughter, Leslie Huber preceded him in death.
Left to carry on his memory are children, Robert T. Hewitt (Janet), Nancy Rausch (Terry) and Peggy Stephens (Gary); grandchildren, Ted Hewitt, Wesley Huber, Jason Hewitt, Alissa Sanderson (Andy), Chip Rausch (Neshira), Doug Rausch (Kellie), Matthew Stephens (Whitney), and Natalie Funk (David); 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild also survive him.
A service in honor of Mr. Hewitt will be 12 noon Wednesday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
