She was a member of Valley Station Church of Christ and an avid U of L fan, "Go Cards!" She was preceded in death by her husband, Elston Birge; and one sister; and three brothers.
She is survived by her children, Lonnie Birge, Billie Birge (Linda) and Phyllis Vissman (Bob); grandchildren, Jeramie (Jamie), Dee (Chris), Ashley, Heather and Brandy; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clarice Thomas (Carl).
Her Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
