She was the former Ruby Lee Buckles, a native of Big Clifty, KY, a former school teacher for over 40 years, a member of Jeffersontown Christian Church and a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Conard McDowell.
She is survived by a daughter, Pat Pierce; a brother, Dale Buckles; two granddaughters, Debbie Miles and Shari Blakely; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:30-8 p.m. Thursday.
