Sara Docia, 36, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026 surrounded by loved ones, at Baptist East Hospital. She was born on April 4th, 1989 to Roxann and Samuel Lawhorn in Louisville, KY.
Sara graduated from ATA College in 2012 with a focus on Dental Assisting. She most recently worked for a private maxillofacial practice with a passion for her patients and tooth extraction. Sara was a generous soul who donated her organs to multiple recipients for life-saving treatment. Her greatest achievement was being a mother, and she loved her boys more than anything. She enjoyed Eminem, Taylor Swift, butterflies, the color pink and cheese quesadillas from Taco Bell.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her sons Justin Jr and James Wilson; father, Samuel Lawhorn; sisters, Mindy French (Rob); Samantha Lawhorn; her grandmother, Charlotte Scrogham, nieces, Breann and Lilly French; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sara is preceded in death by her grandfather, James Scrogham; mother, Roxann Lawhorn and cousin, Deirdre Morris.
A private service will be held.
