Sherman R. Miller

Miller, Sherman Ray 73, passed away May 20, 2013. Sherman retired from the U.S. Air Force and he was part of the Presidential Detail on Air Force One and was a Tech Sergeant. He was an active member of The American Legion Post #229, Fern Creek Masonic Lodge #955 and The Eastern Stars. He was saved and baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church and had been a member of Victory General Baptist Church. After retirement he worked for several years at Wheels For Fun in Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents Beckham and Alma Miller, wife Jean Miller, brother Gerald Miller and sister-in-law Martha Gene Miller. Sherman left behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 10 years Barbara Miller, children Karen Homeister "Bunk"(Greg), Missie O'Keefe (Chris), Angie Hall (Mark), Robert Doyle (Ronald Graham) and William Doyle (Kim), grandchildren Cara Homeister (Joe), David Homeister, Jonathan Homeister (Amanda) and Ricky Homeister (Tasha) and seven great grandchildren with one blessing on the way. He is also survived by his brother Donal Miller and adored his nieces and nephews. A service honoring the life of Sherman will be held Friday at 12 noon at Evergreen Funeral Home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11am-8pm and will resume Friday at 9am till the start of the funeral. The family would like to thank Regency Care and Rehab for the care of their loved one.
