Tears are in my eyes as I’m  typing this, but I just wanted to share my condolences for your family. Mr. Riggs was my Spanish teacher at Liberty High School for 3 years and those were the greatest 3 years of my life.  He believed in me when I didn’t have the strength to believe in myself, he always motivated me and encouraged me to be my best self, He was always smiling and just so upbeat with life, He would always talk to the class about him traveling to different countries and just exploring the world, I’m devastated to know that he’s no longer on this earth but I know that he’s at peace now and there’s no more suffering.

Such a handsome young guy....filled with dreams and a bright future!

We visited Steve in Louisville and he took us to Churchill Downs. We will always remember good times that we had together. 

I’m terribly sad to hear of Steve’s passing, even though we lost touch  several years ago. Steve and I met as work colleagues in 1979 and quickly became close friends. We played tennis several times a week in the blistering Dallas summers, and had a blast driving down to Houston and Corpus Christi.  He was one of most energetic and entertaining people I’ve ever known.

and he was thinking about spending his sensescense with us, he used to say that in a couple years he would be in Reus.

a new life next to us.

Our friend Steve was a gifted artist.  The flawless photographs he made for us continue to bring joy.  
Steve was a dedicated language teacher.  He returned from his trips to Spain bursting with new ideas for his students.
A musical man, our friend took great joy in creating beautiful compositions in his home studio.  
Until we meet again, dear friend, rest easy.  You enriched lives and will not be forgotten.  


The Riggs family has my deepest condolences . I'm so very sorry to hear about Stephen he will be truly missed by many. He loved his music especially his piano may he rest in peace and enjoy beautiful music. Traci Spain
