

Steven Allen Whitworth, age 51, died unexpectedly on October 12, 2021, at Louisville, Kentucky. Steven was born at Albany, New York, on November 16, 1969, to Joyce (Jody), (Parris), and Harry Whitworth, who survive at Battle Creek, Michigan. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Ann Brunner, at Battle Creek, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, and Kentucky, along with a niece and nephew in Michigan. He was also preceded in death by his maternal Battle Creek grandparents Ransom (Randy) and Reba Parris.
Steven was always a hard and dependable worker, could fix anything and enjoyed helping others in any way. He also loved fishing and hunting morel mushrooms, especially with his grandfather Randy Parris, was a great fan of Elvis and could play on his Gibson guitar and sing every Elvis song from memory.
Steven graduated from Oldham County High School, Buckner, Kentucky, in 1987 and then attended Jefferson County Community College and the University of Louisville, both in Louisville, pursuing a business degree. He also resided with his parents at Springfield, Illinois, in the early 1970’s, and moved with them to Prospect, Kentucky, in 1979.
In 1984, he moved with his parents to Battle Creek, Michigan, and attended Northwestern Junior High School and Battle Creek Central High School. Steven then returned to Kentucky and has resided in the Louisville area since 1986.
Steven was previously employed as a clerk at the Colgate Plant in southern Indiana, as a car salesman for Swope Motors, Louisville, as a UPS package handler, as an aircraft marshaller for UPS cargo planes at Louisville Standiford Airport, as a railway loader/shipper of new trucks from Ford Truck Plant in Louisville and also owned Yardmaster Lawn Care in Louisville for many years.
Steven was currently self-employed in Louisville. He was formerly married to Deneen DeLuce and they had two children, Joshua Steven Whitworth, now 21, and Olivia Nicole Whitworth, now 20, who all survive and live in Louisville. That marriage ended in a divorce. Steven was presently married to Rachel Whitworth, nee Sowders, who also survives in Louisville.
A memorial service was held for Steven on October 23, 2021, at Louisville. He was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church, Louisville, and was baptized there on March 28, 1999. Cremation will take place in Louisville at a later date and further arrangements for his interment at Floral Memorial Gardens, Battle Creek, are pending.
