He was a retired sheet metal worker with Bryant Burnett Heating and Cooling.
He is survived by his spouse of 53 years, Carol Vernon Beeler; five children, Allen Slaughter (Dee), Debbie Lewis, Chris Slaughter, Gina Carnell (Tommy), and Lori Harvey (Billy); nine grandchildren, Mat Carnell, Nikki Barnett, Kelly Baldwin, William Lewis Jr, Josh Slaughter, Missy Agundez, Cassie Slaughter, Carissa Slaughter and Christopher Slaughter; and 14 great-grandchildren.
His life celebration will be on Saturday, July 12, at 7pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service.
