

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Vicki L. Lyons, who peacefully departed this life on February 18, 2024, at the Anthology of Louisville, at the age of 71. Vicki was born on July 25, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, and her presence in this world has left a lasting mark on those who knew and loved her.
Vicki was a proud alumna of Durrett High School, graduating in 1970. She dedicated 49 years of her life to Baptist East Hospital, where she served as a Patient Access Manager, demonstrating an unwavering, dedication and compassion in her work.
Outside of her professional life, Vicki loved cheering on the University of Louisville Cardinal sports teams, particularly football. She enjoyed tailgating with friends, creating cherished memories with each game-day celebration. Vicki also had a green thumb and found joy in caring for her garden, nurturing beautiful flowers.
In her younger years, Vicki enjoyed the simple pleasures of basking in the sun by the pool, embodying a spirit of relaxation. She took delight in shopping for the fashionable clothes and loved dressing up for the day with makeup and jewelry, always radiating grace and style.
One of Vicki’s greatest joys was embarking on vacation to Hilton Head Island, with her dear friends, where she could unwind on the sandy beaches.
Vicki is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Mike "Mickey" Lyons, as well as her cherished canine companion, Oscar. She is also preceded by her parents, Fred Gerlach, Jr. and Charlene R. Gerlach, and her sister, Deborah K. Gerlach.
Vicki is survived by her brother Fred W. Gerlach, III; sisters Cheryl A. Gibson (Mitch) and Charlene R. Thompson (Mike); nephew, Ben J. Gerlach (Micki); and two nieces, Krista A. Brummette and Melissa L. Brummette; and Whitney L. Reddington, whom she regarded as her adopted daughter.
Though she has left this world, Vicki's spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will be forever treasured.
Vicki L. Lyons leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and warmth that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A visitation for Vicki will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will resume Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. A funeral service will follow Saturday's visitation, beginning at 11:00 AM. Vicki's committal service will take place after the funeral service in Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
